Good hotel with free wi-fi, great luggage storage, and express check-in. The staff once helped with currency tips, and they also provided wonderful local hike recommendations. I'm coming back for Christmas!

we had a great stay at this small hotel. breakfast was large, good views, amazing location adjacent to the train station and the sightseeing places in appenzell as well as hauptgasse. it was really close to landsgemeindeplatz, appreciated its location in native dress going to church. the staff that checked us in was really kind and exceptionally wonderful. the private parking was nearby, good service.

The location was particularly good and incredible, within walking distance of Schlossli. The lovely modern and bright room had a lovely view...

There was restaurant missing, I was a little disappointed.

I was nearly ready to rave about the charming decor, but the noisy bells all night really ruined that vibe. Plus, parking was not free, totally unheard of! As an esteemed guest, i woudl ve appreciated some form of special treatment, but the staff did nothing to even acknowledge the chaos. Just couldn't overlook these issues.

Fine views of the hills, charming historical decor, unique local amenities like rubber ducky in the shower

The necessity of paying for parking feels excessive!!! Constant noise from street activities, especially revelers, makes it hard to get a good night's sleep. Compounding that, light pollution from nearby shops distracts from relaxation!!!

Fantastic Stay with Charming Decor and Helpful Staff

Our double room showcased beautiful traditional decor. The breakfast was great with local cheese specialties. Vanessa and Laura provided excellent recommendations for hikes and quickly arranged a dinner reservation. Be sure to book parking ahead to prevent any issues!

The charming decor of the traditional rooms added character to my stay, while the fine views from the breakfast room made each morning good. The meal options were plentiful, with a variety of local cheeses that set the tone for the day. The noise from street activities and the requirement for parking fees were notable downsides, impacting the overall experience. Keeping the windows open for fresh air was not practical due to the constant noise.
